FS .... Shift lever extension for Alta SS.

I built this for Randy Webb, but he is MIA so I need to sell it.

This is an extension for the Alta SS. Lower your Alta as low as it will go (just so it clears the exhaust heat shield) and add this extension to bring the **** to a competition level. This thing works great! Randy saw it at a PP and wanted one, but he is nowhere to take it, so it's yours for the $40 it cost me to make it.

Aluminum shaft threads onto the Alta SS with set screw. Fits the Alta shift **** with set screw.

$40 plus shipping.

...was hoping to get reviews from the two I sold first. I don't think they have installed them yet.
If you want, I'd be happy to make you one anyway. Maybe you could be the first to give an honest review. PM me if you are interested.

Excellent seller and excellent craftsmanship.

Unfortunately I have not had a good opportunity to install my ALTA SSK w/ Onasled extenstion yet (due to recent move and job situation).

I hope to have it installed soon and I will provide honest feedback/review once I have it installed.

Hey... at least I'm not the only slack one

I did finally get around to ordering the Alta kit today though, so at least I'm heading in the right direction.

I guess I need to figure out if I'm going to have to change the shift boot now.

Jeff,
You can use the stock shift boot, no problem. At least mine fit.

OK, stupid question time:

What does this thing do? I thought a short shifter was to make the shift throws shorter. Doesn't this just make them longer again? My S is pretty near stock, so obviously I am not the market for this product, but I can't resist asking the question.

Please give me a MINI-education.

Didn't see this post till now.
Your right about the SS and that it's meant to shorten the through, but in my case, using the Alta, it lowered the **** too much. On the track you don't want to have to reach to far away from the wheel to shift. Ultimatly you want that **** to be as close to the wheel as possible. Adding this extension does this while also utilizing the shorter throw of the fully dropped Alta SS. So what you are getting is a **** that is closer to the wheel then stock with a throw that is still much quicker and crisper then stock.
The Alta SS lever is bent, Most people will have that bend facing back, but with this extension you have that bend facing the steering wheel. This brings the **** also that much closer to the wheel.
To date "I" feel that the Alta SS, fully dropped, with this extension is the best shifter I have ever felt for our Minis.

Yep, I do paypal. Again, I am not in the business in making money on these things and don't make a single cent selling them, which is fine with me. They cost me $40 to make so that's the price, plus shipping and a few bucks for paypal fees.
Just PM me if you want one.
