Add-a-fuse for extra power socket in near driver area

Hello! I am using an add-a-fuse for extra power socket in near the driver area in my 2006... I'm a little lost on where to put the ground wire. I put the add a fuse in the spot for the current power socket. When I tried a spot for the ground the power would stay on for the socket with the ignition off, so basically think I need to find a new spot.

Any advice and if you have know of a photo of recommended spot would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much in advance... (and please point me to another thread if this has been answered)

I thought the 12V outlet socket retains power for a few minutes after key off? How long are you waiting after key off to check power supply? There is a ground just below the carpet next to the driver seat on the door side. That is where I grounded the lights for my aftermarket gauges.

If the 12V outlet is hot at all times, perhaps you need a circuit that is only hot at key on instead. Or a circuit that is not ground side controlled. I am not sure which type the 12V outlet is.
