Adding a power outlet or rear power outlet retrofit help

Can anyone point me to a tutorial about installing an extra power outlet or maybe retrofitting a rear power outlet to an 03 r53.

I'm practically living out of my car and sometimes need to charge or power multiple devices like phones, tablets, RD and maybe the occasional laptop. Right now I'm just using a 2 port 4.2A USB charger that lets me charge 2 iPads at the same time, but I'd like to be able to charge additional items simultaneously.

I've been hesitant about using a 2 or 3 way power outlet because I'm worried about drawing too much power out of one outlet. Also, its crowded enough in that area.

I also want it to turn off with the car. If anyone knows of a tutorial to hardwire an inverter that would be great too as I would be able to charge a laptop that way.

as long as you dont go over 10 amps, your fine on a cig lighter for power.

constant power? well, your battery is literally right there, get a socket at walmart and hard wire it. should be $5 and about 10 mins install. (you may want to fuse that last one, unless your devices have fuses...)

Yeah....
Pretty hard to overload a cigarette lighter with electronics.... Like said above it is a 10 or even a 15 amp fuse....so you are fine.
You should be able to install an extra plug that is always hot in the trunk in about 15 minutes...drill a hole, pop in the plug...fish the wires down to the battery....suggest using the chasis as ground(anybmetal body part...sand down, put in a screw...then maybe protect from rust...should be done....the new plug USUSLLY has an inline fuse.....

P.S
Simpler to get a 12v laptop adaptor..it will step up/down the voltage...about $20-25...
An inverter make ac from DC...then your ac adaptor will convert it back to DC....mostvadaptors REQUIRE they be the only thing plugged into the outlet or be hardwired for higher (above about 200) wattage units....and they will kill your battery pretty fast...and tend to make lots of heat.
