R56 R56 Auto to manual swap
R56 Auto to manual swap
Has anyone done a auto to manual swap on a R56 base mini? I am trying to figure out all the parts that I will need to do the swap.If anyone could give me a parts list that would be helpful and would I need to reprogram my Ecu?

R56 cars are neither rare nor particularly expensive at this point, and a transmission swap on a modern car is not an easy feat. If you have an auto and want a manual, you would almost certainly be much better off just selling your car and buying a manual.
So, I'm not your financial advisor, but if you're that far underwater on a car that's 9+ years old I'm not sure you should be putting a bunch of money into modifying said 9+ year old car. It's not a particularly easy or cheap undertaking.
With all the sensors and monitors these cars use, I would bet you'd be in a world of hurt trying to get everything to talk correctly without having a host of codes

I am doing a auto to manual swap on a R52 right now. I can tell you, find a parts car for cheap. You will have almost everything you need. You will just need to add a flywheel and clutch. Then whatever programming is needed. That is the way to go.
