Re-installing control arm problem

Hi guys,

I’m new to the form and this is my first post. I have a ‘08 R52 that I bought used. The LCA bushing needed changing which I did over the winter.
I did the full sub frame lowering and changed the inner ball joints and sway bar bushings at the same time.

Everything is back in place but I am having an issue with re-installing the driver side control arm on the inner ball joint. The Powewr Flex bushings are in all the way but the the ball joint stud rests on the lower side lip of the control arm.

I’ve tried the big hammer method but it doesn’t seem to work. Any ideas as to get it to set?

Thanks

I put the ball joint on the arm first then bolted up with those two bolts and it went on easy. Clean the hole on the lower arm so it slides in easy. It might have some rust build up.

Looks to me like it just needs to be lined up. Stick an Allen wrench in the end of the joint and wiggle it, just a little bit to see if it will drop in.

Thanks guys, that did it. I removed the two top bolts getting the ball joint loose and then fit it into the control arm. Tightened it a bit and then refitted the top bolts. Fixed the issue. I still don’t know why it didn’t just go in, but hey it is done. Thanks ECSTuning for the recommendation.

Thanks NAM for the help.

Cheers
