GIAC ECU flash question for you...

As we have probably all read some time or another, they software upgrades have gotten a lot of crap. I have purchased the 15%pulley and would like to know if the GIAC software flash for the ECU is the software that people are talking about(problems)

Please tell me about YOUR experiances with this GIAC upgrade for the 15% pulley. How has it helped your performance, whatever...

It looks worth the $$ for what they claim it does. But if it causes these problems Ive heard about, obviously worth a second thought.

Thanks In advance

i don't know of any problems being reported about the GIAC. i'm actually planning on getting it as soon as they release the smart cable version, so i can switch back and forth to stock for trips to the dealer and valet modes etc.

I have the GIAC with no complaints at all. I can't say I've heard of anyone reporting problems with the GIAC either.

I have the GIAC on my 05 S. Car runs great. They are working on a map for larger injectors and 19% pulley.

No, no, no! You're a bit confused here. The software problems you've been reading about are the different versions and updates FROM MINI! It's the software that COMES WITH YOUR MINI that's full of bugs and problems. Not GIAC or any of the other major aftermarket tuner ECU programs! The GIAC has received nothing but positive feedback. Not one problem or error code reported to date.

NO problems here with GIAC. The greatest benefit IMO is how smooth it has made the transmission......a quality ride. Since V39 and replacement of two plug wires, the engine hasn't had even one hesitation and I'm feeling a little extra umph. I think GIAC is the perfect companion to a 15% pulley.....a no brainer.

I wonder what the power range would be for an MCS with a 15% Helix pulley,
GIAC chip and CAI. My guess is 183-185 hp. Whatever it is.......it's plenty for me.

Addamania,

I've had the 15% GIAC from day one and haven't had a single problem with it.

Herby 74,

With a stock non-works MCS w/the works ECU you'll see an increase from to about 185 + or - from 168; with a stock MCS w/the stock ECU you'll see an increase to about 185 + or - from 178.

Greatgro,

You're going to love the 19% - "it's the BOMB!"

No problems with the 05 mcs project car here (any we've beat the $h!t out of it), nor any complaints from customers.
