R60 lip seal removal and replace

lip seal removal and replace

does anyone know how the pins that hold the n/s lips in, mine has split and i've got a new replacement, but i need to know how the pins are removed?

the plastic pins sometimes get "rusty"...spry WD-40 and try to pry on them with a flat head. once the move a bit, you could use a long nose pliers to pull it out.

In some instances, I broke the lips and pushed the pin in with a screw driver. I then recovered the pins and reused them.

I picked up a set of body panel removal tools from Amazon for about $15 that has the exact tool made for removing those and other plastic pins and clips, they work really well, ive been able to remove and reuse them over and over with it. Totally worth the few bucks to not have to keep buying new plastic rivets every time you break a few.
If you need to replace some, you can order OEM ones, but they are just plastic pins. They sell several different sizes replacement ones at most any AutoZone or the like. Hope this helps.
