Carbon Cleaning Help

Evening All... I finally was able to get to my mini this morning to carbon clean the valves. The valve are very dirty. I'm having trouble with my media blaster and looking for someone that may have done this before to lend over some advice. I've read the posts on here as to building a wand etc...I purchased the Harbor Freight media blaster.. I can't very much media to come out... I have my compressor set to 100psi but there isn't much flow..anybody have any experience?? I double checked to lines to ensure it wasn't plugged, I also checked the barb connected to make sure it wasn't to far into the media gun...

So.. there was a small metal shaving shapped like a coned S that was lodged in the hose.. this allowed air but restricted the media...

Have you ever tried CRC intake valve and turbo cleaner? I think it might help a little bit.

got the Mini going... The cleaning took way longer than expected but as you can see above my valves were very dirty. I'd recommend doing this before you reach 94K like I did, it may save you some time. Thanks for all the help & PMs. The tech articles were outstanding I wouldn't have been able to do this without them.

Thank You

Some newer cars are using direct injection coupled with port fuel injection (the port fuel injection will keep the valves clean. Hopefully this will catch on with BMW/MINI.

No. It clearly says it's for an N54/N55 engine. Those are BMW straight 6 engines.

that’s what is available and have it already im sure it can be modified the openning to fit the intake on N14 manifold, the idea is just to keep the wallnut media and dust from exiting all over, its better than straight shot nozzle. Thanks
