2013 R56 Brembo caliper stock?

Hi everyone,

We bought a 2nd hand R56 S that appears to be stock. It's due for brakes and when shopping for pads, I'm somewhat at a loss as to whether the Brembo calipers are stock from MINI or were an aftermarket upgrade by the previous owner. Does anyone know if MINI sold the R56 with a Brembo option?

If so, are these larger rotors and pads than the base brake system, or still the same size just with more pistons in the caliper?

Do I need to determine the Brembo PN and shop for parts based on the caliper model?

Those look like regular S brakes with a “Brembo” decal applied

These are the factory big brakes:

That's what I suspected. I found it odd that Brembo would manufacture a caliper with branding that didn't fit leaving bits cut off. Someone was desperate to impress with a sticker.

Yeah that looks for sure to be a stock caliper painted red with a Brembo sticker

Good question to ask and while you’re at it there are some fantastic products out on the market now that work on brake dust. You’ll be amazed what they can do. The most economical solution that I’ve found is the HONEST product which comes in 32ounce spray bottles. Just trying to help.
