Whine from engine in 1st and 2nd

I work 44 miles from my house, 40 of which are highway (Billerica - Gloucester MA.) After driving on the highway to work (75-80mph) and I pull into town and cruise, there's a whine/whistle coming from engine in 1st or 2nd gears, like a belt or turbo. I have a stock '15 MCS with 32.5k on it, daily driver. Any idea what could it be or if anyone experience something like that? I'm about to do my last "free" oil change and need to bring this up to them. I'd like to be prepared.

Other issues that they will need to address:
Rear view mirror keeps falling and I have to re-adjust it once a week or so.
There's a wet socks smell from AC, considering I have already had this fixed last year.

thanks to all,

Max

Did you have a recall by any chance of manual transmissions that F series cars got having to do with bearings? Just guessing for you.

I have had that recall done earlier this year. I can't exactly remember what they did, but it was described as something: "found light scoring. no need to replace. replaced all necessary bushings or bearings." I can dig up the receipt for that recall visit when I get home.

There was no recall on the transmission itself. Recall was for crankshaft bearing on manual transmission cars. I'm surprised they just replaced the bearings on yours. I got a new motor because of scoring on crankshaft bearing surface. I don't think that bearing would cause a when in only 1st and 2nd gear anyway.

Whine

Does it make the sound only when in gear, in neutral, or both?

It makes a sound in 1st and 2nd on low revs, if you rev the engine, go faster, or switch to 3rd, sound goes away. Almost as if turbo builds up the boost and sound is gone.
It only happens after extended period of highway runs.
If you are in sport mode or have AC on, it is amplified.
Mostly I notice it in the morning when it is cooler, but have heard it in the afternoons.

I'll try to link sound clip I've recorded later.

Wet socks smell is covered by a TSB and is a warranty issue. Evaporator water is soaking the cabin filter and causing mildew. These is a free or charge fix for this.

I've had this already fixed last year and the smell came back this summer. Just sad.

Difficult to diagnose 'sound' issues without seeing the car. If the car is running fine and there are no check engine lights, that makes it even more difficult.

Might recommend checking the computer to see if there are any 'recorded' error codes.
