Engine wont turn over

So I recently did some work to my mini, I installed a new OS Giken clutch and flywheel and replaced the timing chain and guides. It started fine yesterday and today but I let it sit for an hour or two to clean up my mess and now when I press the start button it clicks but doesn't turn over. It ran and drive just fine earlier but now it doesn't work I'm confused please help

If it was that simple I wouldn't be asking for help. The car has full battery and clicks when you press the start button but the starter won't turn over.

Could be many things. Battery, grounds (as posted above), bad starter, seized engine (skipped timing chain). So, you've got some work to do. Start easy, try jumping the battery (how do you know it's good?). Try trying the engine over by hand, pull the starter, etc..

The first thing I tried to do was jump it with my other car. I've been checking the connections I can see and they're all good. I turn the engine over by pushing it and popping the clutch so it's not seized and neither is the trans. Im going to jack it up and look at the starter later today

If it clicks, it's probably not ground. Check that your starter is installed correctly, and that all of the electrical to it is correct.

Sounds like a connection made after all that work came loose....

OSG makes a great clutch....would love to get one for my R53.

So i checked the starter and everything is hooked up and tight. Is it possible that I have a bad solenoid or relay? It's showing me a check engine light but no codes.

A check engine light usually points to a sensor issue...light something is unplugged or not firmly seated...
The old trick of hitting a starter with a hammer to unstick it will usually get a couple more starts out of one...but if you have a light...it indicates it is likly NOT a starter.

The thing is it's giving me a check engine light but no codes. So idk where to start. I guess I'll just keep checking connections and I'll try tapping on the starter.

Ok so i pushed it as hard as I could and popped the clutch and it started. I drove around the block parked it again and tried to turn it on and off. Same thing happened. Is there a cheap route to fix this or do I have to just replace the whole starter?
