Oil leak on turbo in a 2009 Mini Cooper S

Well while I should have checked all these things before buying a new mini I guess its better late than never.

So I am going to go get an oil change with synthetic (cheapest brand however) oil, but before doing so I will have the BG EPR added as Systemlord suggested on a previous post to get it cleaned out. The shop is charging me $89 for synthetic oil change with a high flow oil filter and $30 to do the flush with BG EPR (they will add that first, run it for 30 min and then do the oil change, he said he won't charge for doing it, but I have to pay $30 for it. So in total it will be $119 + tax (is this a good price)?

Also I have attached some photos of what appears to be an oil leak in a valve that goes to the turbo (red arrow). Is this if major concern? I noticed that I need to add oil to my car about every 1000 miles or so.

Honestly, ~$25 for a 5qt jug of Mobil 1 0W-40 at Walmart and a $10-15 oil filter and with simple tools, you could DIY this yourself for under $50. It doesn't take a lot of time.

As for that nut there, I'd drain the oil and change out that hollow bolt with new copper washers, ~$25

Do you have a better pic , looks like near those coolant lines for the turbo on the front.

Agreed, oil is cheap at Walmart. You may have a leaking fitting on the turbo oil line which is common and requires the oil line be replaced. There is plenty of information on replacing the oil lines on this forum and youtube.

That price seems right for shop pricing. Do some comparison and see if you think you'd be able to DIY it yourself. The BG EPR comes with directions on how to use it on the back of the can. It's pretty simple. Then, Red Line is a good oil to consider here. Otherwise, take a look at some here. Oil filters here. Drain plug ring here.

wohoo just changed the oil myself, put a K&N oil filter and mobile 1 full synthetic 0W-40.

I need to see if that line is easily replaced by me, I will start looking into taking it out so that I can check ECS website for the part.

By the way, ECS Tuning, is the vibration absorber listed on your site something that comes with the screws? Also is this something I can do myself or is it freaking hard? Here is the link http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Site...714/ES2673360/
