So we decided to change the gaskets on the oil filter housing and cooler due to an oil leak. At the same time a new braided oil feedline was put on. Everything seem to go well. Oil leak fixed, nothing dripping. Went for a drive and turbo started making noise. Went back let it cool down and pulled the oil feedline and not a drop of oil was present inside the line. Going to tear it apart and see if something is a miss at the connection on the block. I am just curious if anyone else has an idea or has ran into this.

Did you prime the line with oil and to the turbo? You may have air in the system preventing oil to travel to the turbo. It’s the same principle as to hydraulic brake systems. They need to be bled.

 

I’m going to tear it down so I can get to the banjo on the block. Think it’d be ok to take it off and see if I can turn it over and try to get oil to start at that point? I’m going to check the feed line and the banjo bolt to make sure they’re not plugged up. Any other ideas if it is air locked?

Make sure there are two copper washers present on the banjo bolt. One of ‘em could be missing or forgot to put back on during the initial installation. Things like this can and do happen.
