Extremely new to Mini! What does this symbol mean?

My car is hardcore stressing me out... 2008 basic mini cooper, I haven't even had it for a whole week and I'm having so many issues. Battery and radiator... However, on top of that I have all these random lights coming on. So, the radiator was just replaced. The next day, when I started the car the red service light came on for a second, then this [IMG][/IMG]

came up then this [IMG][/IMG]

and they don't stay for very long. it'll say I have a stored message and show me both lights when I look (not the service light) I found the top one in my manual, but I checked every single light and none are out. And I couldnt find the bottom one anywhere... But it looked like a window, so I checked my windows and sunroof and stuff and everything is working fine... They eventually didn't show back up (the service light did, but I don't know if that just shows up when I turn it on or not. Haven't had it long enough to be sure) and today the car wouldn't start and I saw that window light again, and my dad thinks it's the battery this time causing problems but the screen just showed a yellow exclamation point so... Any insight would be helpful.

You need to host the pictures on a site like photobucket or attach them when you post. You can't link to your PC's internal storage like it is right now. Then we can see the pics and will try to help you.

As far as the light bulbs go, there is a possibility that the previous owner put in some LED bulbs that are not compatible. They can cause electrical gremlins but don't seem to be a big deal other than tripping the dash warning lights. Put a charger on your battery and see if that helps the other issue. A low battery can also cause issues. Find an auto parts store and ask them to put their code reader on it to see what is going on. It should be free at most any major auto parts store.

One light is yellow, looks like a lightbulb with an exclamation point inside. Found it in the owners manual and it says exterior lighting failure I think. And the other one is also yellow, it's like a power window symbol with an exclamation point next to it but I couldn't find that one in the manual.

I've never seen that window symbol ...

the owner's manual has a procedure for resetting the 'automatic droop' and pinch protection . . . try doing that ....

do your windows drop about 1/4 inch when you open the door?

For the lamp out error check every light, even the license plate lights. My car had that error when I bought it and it took me a while to realize it was my license plate lights causing it.

I too get the strange window error once a week or so. Both my windows properly drop down when the door is opened, and both function normally. I can clear the error by rolling my passenger window down then back up.

They kinda do when I close the door. I'm not used to having a newer car though so that's probably something totally normal that I'm just freaked out by.

Okay, I'll check the license plate. Window thing just sounds like a mystery... But it did seem to briefly go away after I put the passenger window down. Maybe that's the trick... Haha either way. Thanks!

Search on here for the window reset procedure. It's something like:

Roll the window all the way down, and keep holding the down button for 10 more seconds.
Roll the window all the way up, and keep holding the up button for 10 more seconds.
Repeat for the other window.

That will reset some of the saved stuff that the car "knows" about the window position.

Check your battery voltage first thing in the morning. It should be something more like 12.65V. If it's less than 12.5V, the battery is not fully charged. If it's less than 12V, the battery has a dead cell. If the battery is not fully charged, put it on a charger for a couple hours, then unhook the charger and wait another couple of hours. If the battery is still low, replace it.

Or take the battery to a FLAPS and have it tested. (Friendly Local Auto Parts Store.)
