"flat" spots in rpm range?

when driving my '06 JCW car i often feel a "flat" spot in the throttle somewhere between 3,000 and 3,500rpm. is anyone else having this issue or is a fix documented anywhere?

also, when its cold, i REALLY get a bad flat spot while accelerating in first. its like i go wide open, closed, and wide open again.

ideas/suggestions?

read that thread, could be similar, but no positive repair listed.

also, i forgot to mention, the car "bucks" under hard acceleration in too high of a gear. for instance, if im at a lower speed/rpm in 6th gear and smash the throttle, it will cut in an out sometimes. this happens when i use the pedal, but seems either worse or more often when i use the cruise control "accelerate" button.

Could be a worn out bypass valve

I thought the BPV problem was largely fixed in the '06 cars?

i have that hesitation too in like 6th and i step on it... think it has something to do with timing / tuning. its like it misses or something. i have a pulley and a pile of other mods however, so i suspect its just a tune issue.

i also have some "flat" spots, mostly noticeable in 2nd / 3rd imo. 1st gear is insane on my car, cant even go wot, lol. again, i think its just a tuning thing. i wouldnt worry about it.

Just a guess...
When my motor mount failed...I noticed the cruise + button made a jerky feel...
Look at the upper motor mount..it us basicly an oil filled ball on a can with a bolt sticking out...
When it tears...the oil leaks out...and the motor thrashes around...might be part of your issue.

I inspect the mount every time I open the hood, as I know it's prone to failure. Thanks tho
