Freshly Detailed 09 MCS

Hey Guys,

Got a chance to try out the new Griot's polisher I got over Christmas. I polished out the swirl marks with Menzerna Intensive Polish. The dealer put it through their car wash last time I had it in for warranty work even though I asked them not to wash it. Anyways, here are some photos and the products I used. Enjoy!

  • Meguire's Clay Bar paint and windows
  • Menzerna Intensive Polish with Griots Random Orbital with Orange Pad
  • 1 Coat Chemical Guys EZ Cream Glaze on White Pad
  • 1 Coat Chemical Guys Blacklight on Black Pad
  • 1 Coat Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 Sealant on Black Pad
  • 1 Coat Chemical Guys Hybrid V7 Spray Sealant
I'm not affiliated with Chemical guys...I just like their stuff....as you can see.

Looks good! I was a detailer for Audi and Porsche for many years.
We always used all the Manzerna products.
Along with Worlds Best Wax*.
The waxes are amazing 50% Carnauba. Apparently they have a new one with 80%.
Anyhow, I like to see a nicely detailed car! I always go into small detail myself.

Looks great!
As soon as the weather improves I'll be doing the same thing to mine, for the same reason as you. I had polished The Go-kart this past fall, and it got washed at the dealership when it went in for its first service, and they swirled the crap out of it. From now on, no one washes it but me!

Yeah, now when I go in I tape a "Please do not wash" sign on the speedo in case I forget to tell the SA.

Looks good. How long did it take you? I did a wash and two coats of wax once, took me three hours! I was so tired the rest of the day

That looks awesome. I am a huge fan of chemical guys as well. The butter wet wax is incredible. I am going to try the blacklight with a butter wet topper next. What do you think about the v7? Also what percent tint do you have...looks very nice!!

Yea butter wax is great. I usually top it over the sealant but thought I'd change things up this time.

The V7 turned out to be really great. Very easy to apply with no haze or cloudiness. So far it seems to repel dirt better than if I had topped it with the butter wax.

Thanks, have you tried the butter wet over the blacklight, or the butterwet over the v7? Also do you know what percent your tint is? Thanks!

No I haven't tried butter wax over either of those. This was my first time trying their new hybrid stuff.

The car was already tinted when I bought it but I had the tint shop measure it when I brought it in to have the moonroof tinted and I think they measured it at ~30%. Its a 3M basic plain tint. I had them put FormulaOne Pinnacle on the moonroof and love it. It drastically cut down on the heat in the car. I've been thinking about replacing all the tint in the car with the Formula One stuff.
