Opinion on wood floor sub install?

Like most of the people here, I'm not very satisfied with the speaker system in my Mini (I even have the premium setup) and have been contemplating upgrades. Currently I have a 12'' Alpine Type S subwoofer in my truck with a 400W amp and Polk DB601 components speakers.

At some point I would like to transfer the setup to the Mini and enjoy some clearer low-end response. I've seen a number of installs that take advantage of the cubby hole in the trunk area for the subwoofer, but has anyone installed the sub onto a wood floor in the trunk? I'm still on the fence about how it would look and whether the uniqueness outweighs the pointlessness of it.

Here is an example of it I found using google. What do you guys think?

Mine will be done tomorrow. I will post pictures. Made mine with very little fiberglass (only to increase air space) and am very pleased with it.

Here is an idea of what it looks like so far. I did a rear seat delete, since i carry my golf clubs, and I am 6'4... nobody is sittin in the back.

The rack where the seat goes on the right is the amp rack, with a hole on the bottom for a fan to dram air in and out to cool the amp. On the left, will be a hatch so I can store...whatever. Most likely golf shoes and *****, and the stock jack/tool kit.

The sub box is mounted down into the well where the factory jack was mounted. It is a full wooden box, but glassed down around there (while retaining the functionality of the spare tire), and just raises the floor up.

I have been working on my system over a year and I finally have the design iI think I like. The box for subs wasnt my issue mine was where to put my amplifiers since I was working on budget the Mids/High amp wont fit under the seat or in stock amp location and my sub amp is a larger 1700W amp so I finally gave up on having rear seats so I may maintain ability to have styorage.
