I have been playing with the idea of a front mount and non-s hood... for effect. ;-)

But why make it look like an S without the GO to back it up?

It's been done, and it's a straight swap.

I personally prefer the plain hood, but until you put "S" badges on there, you are not really trying to fool anyone. It's what you like.

I just like the "S" hood better, trust me, I'm not going to try to pose my Justa as an "S". I'm proud of my Justa

I've got a sport package, so I already have "S" wheels and a (unique) hatch wing. There are levels of in-between. Plus quite a few "S" owners were putting R50 chrome grills on their car in the early days when the retro aspect was being played up.

I've got the Black JCW Grilles. I just don't like the look of chrome. I'm fairly new to this MINI game (had my Justa a year next month, our anniversary ) so I'm still feeling out what direction I want to go with it. One thing that surprises me is the cult following behind this "holies". They came on my car and I think they are just ugly as sin. I'd love to get rid of them for super cheap as soon as I get my new wheels.

I want to go with the Black Jack style on the outside (A Panel, Mirror, Side LED, Markers) but it just seems so hard to find. I literally search everywhere and it's pretty hit or miss as to when/where you'll find things.

I'm doing the checkered theme on the inside, well, I was until I saw the Di-Noc and I'm really liking how that looks. That's the great thing about these cars, they are always able to be changed.

As far as performance, I don't know yet. I'll have to get with my buddies who are big gearheads and see what they suggest.

Doing your thing, and making your car uniques at the core of baing a mini owner and the mini modding craze....right from the start. When gen 1 mini's came out, mini bragged it was almost impossible with all the options to have 2 mini's be exactly the same....
So to swap a hood...as long as you don't try to pass your car off to an unsuspecting buyer as something it is not, why not!? Have fun!!

While some say the Holie is the perfect wheel from an aesthetic standpoint, I believe it's popularity really comes from the fact that it's the only reasonably light factory wheel. And of course the 15" size is wallet friendly for tires, so it's an obvious choice for autocrossers and roadracers. Notice how the Dodge Neon ACR comes with smaller diameter wheels than the lesser SRT4? Bigger isn't always better when it comes to the track. Sorry for the Neon reference, but when I looked into getting a car, I really did look at all options.

I think the "holies' would be ok in a nice gunmetal or matte black but as they are, they are an eyesore to me. I hope someone will take them off my hands eventually!

As far as modifications and all that jazz...

I don't ever really plan on selling this car. It was the first car I bought with my own money, yadda yadda, it's a MINI, it's got a bunch of sentimental value. It's my own car, all that. So I'll probably keep it until I have kids and they learn how to drive and then MAYBE I'll part with it...but I doubt it.

I've got a nice SUV to drive around in the winters so this car isn't my daily driver.

It's just there so many damn options with these cars. I can't help but spend money on it.

I think the rims I was looking at are XXR 18's. They are 18 inches, only 15 but I believe thats the model name. What are some of your guys/gals favorite mods?!

I love hollies and it were 8" wide, I'd rock them like nobody's business.

I would also love to roll the non-s hood on my S if only a FMIC wouldn't hurt performance.

I've got two sets of Daytonas now (wheel in my avatar), one for winter tires, one for summer. But if I could justify the expense, I'd love a set of 16" Rota RBs with white, satin silver, or gold centers (wife knocked down the gold idea, though).

I highly recommend all mods listed in my signature for an R50, this thing is a blast now.

I don't like the look of the holies, but they are light as hell. I might pick up a set and run 15"s for a while to see how i like it. On an R50 cutting weight is king

I have had a CF MCS hood on my Cooper for many years. If they MADE a Cooper one....I would have rocked that. AS FAR AS...a Mini looking the same...I can say some of us have unique Mini's as I am one of them even if mine is a plain clean one. Everyone knows it
