Drilling holes for Ipad Mount

I want to mount a iPad in my Mini. Right now the best option for this is to drill 2 holes into the drivetrain tunnel (close to the shifter). Using a RAM Mount B Connector and than RAM Mount Ipad Mount.

Is this a good or bad idea? I have looked under the car and seen pictures and there does not appear to be much in the tunnel in that area. I do realize I need to remove the heat shield....

Should I be concerned?

BTW: Proclip mount does not work well .... Ipad is just to heavy.

Pic anyone?

Really?

I have a ProClip-mounted iPad in my R56. It's quite fine - what problems have you seen with it? I'll go as far as vouching for the ProClip mount on our crazy pothole-ridden roads and my stiffened suspension.

I will show you mine if you show me yours....

Yeah I did this MOD and its works great. I too would like to see the proclip setup.

With the floor mount I can rotate and remove the mount very easily.

I have had my R55 for just over a month and have done quite a bit to it already. I will post pics over the week.
