Mini Connected NOT Working
Just picked up my custom 2012 Cooper this weekend which is way siiik but the Mini Connected menu/Mini Connected App says my iPhone4 "isn't detected". Anyone else having this issue? My MA said it could possibly be the cord (may be out of date). Want to see if I can figure it out before going to the Dealership. Thanks
The moderators may want to move this to the MINI Nav/Audio forum where you might find some kindred souls....

Check Cable
My Connected didn't work. I spent some time on line with Germany, and finally we checked the cable. It was the cable. Always the last thing
. Anyway, plug your cable into your computer, then plug the phone to the cable. If your computer doesn't see your phone, it's the cable.

Thanks, will try when I get home. I spoke with the MA who got me thru the buying process and he told me that for 2012 they stopped including the cable with the car. Apparently the one I have is a "2011" cord given to me as a courtesy (very nice guy), but shouldnt it still work regardless of the year? I can play music in the car but it doesnt show album art work and mini connected doesnt work. I was told I may have to purchase another cord for $100. Very frustrating when I purchase a 30k car and still not getting its full features..
Email Germany
Try logging onto Mini Connected and asking if the cable exchange issue is true. There are two cables apparently. Elsewhere on the website is a picture of the two. The skinny one is the one that works in my car. The one I had was the bigger of the two and had the same issues you have--no artwork, no video, no connected. The dealer exchanged mine after they checked with MiniUSA and were told to make sure my car was right. I believe the contact I had with Germany, which was friendly kind of like two geeks looking for a solution, helped MiniUSA to make the decision they did. A student of mine broke his cable; his dealer exchanged his under warranty. Email and push the dealer. They put the wrong cable in the car not you.

Thanks everyone, it was the cord, I got the correct one this past weekend, the Gen manager and my MA are way too cool, glad I didn't have to pay the $100 for it. Mini Connected is awesome, scared me the first time I got a notification on my screen from facebook while driving...getting the hang, in week 3 of my car...
