Getting ready to order rotors and pads.I have decided on the rotors, but need help on pads..

Why would I choose red over green or green over red?

Greens are high initial bite (like the OEM pads). They purportedly last longer than the Red.

Reds are more progressive and low dust. They're described by EBC as being more for muscle cars and heavier sports cars. I use them on my MINI, a daily driver that sees auto-x and occasional track days (HPDE) as they resist heat fade a little better than Green. Reds have/had a reputation for wearing quickly and being tough on rotors. Hard to say if this has been addressed, but after 15k miles, my pads and rotors are just fine.

depends on what you're planing... if your drive "sprited" and need stopping power or if you have nice wheels and want them to clean longer

Jumping on board...

Stock black 17" wheels and I don't mind washing the car.

I drive spirited but no plans for HPDE or Auto-X. Just want more confidence in my "whoa-power"

Do they make a yellow pad. My stock pads are down to about 50% after 2 hard track days. I was told Yellow would be good go a daily driver with track time too. Red I was told will be loud for a daily driver. Hard on rotors and need some heat in them to be at there best. Not good for a daily driver.
I will need pads before next months track days. I have not started researching it yet so and info would be great.

Yellows are beginners track pads that tend to be really noisy and dusty for street use.

Reds are more street than track pads.

Greens are purely street pads, and lowest in dust.

Blue is new and I have not used them.

Daily driver(Local to the airport + Drive to the track-Thunderhill is 660 miles each way. What is the good set up. Yellow-Noisy and dusty do not sound great. Wheels are black but heavy brake dust sucks.

I would change between track pads and street pads. There really is nothing that does both well. You should never compromise on the track.

I prefer Carbotech 1521 for the street and Carbotech XP12 for the track but they are kind of costly. They give great modulation and brake feel.

Blue is a track pad that is advertised as being usable on the street too. But never used them either.

I have heard that too but I still would no use it.

I need something that is rated good to 1800 degrees F or more for the track. You can use some track pads for the street if you bear the noise and dust, but some do require heat to work well. I am just very weary of dual purpose pads that may be a compromise on the track.
