1. How do you remove the dome light cover?
2. Is there any way to disable the automatic headlights? I would
rather they not come on whenever they feel like it.
Thanks for the help....

1. Place a putty knife under it and gentle pop it off. (Then replace it with a really cool LED.....like maybe RED!)
2. You can disable them if you turn of the DRL feature, but that means the running lights turn off too. If you mean the Automatic that deals with light levels, then you just twist the light stick to off, but for it to do anything the DRL feature must be turned off.
Sidenote, I am tinkering with NCSExpert(the program BMW uses to change codes) to get to the body computer and make it so that only the low level Daytime lights tun on when the DRL option is enabled. I'll post when I have info.

Thanks Geoffrey, playing tag with you between my posts, lol.
I just don't like auto lights, I want them on and off when I say, but I
guess that's not an option now :(

Funny how you can get used to something. When I got my '06 the auto lights threw me for a bit then I got used to them and then relied on them. Now I'm driving the nightmare rental and I get somewhat irked that I have to stoop to turning lights on and off. Seriously, it doesn't just know?

Are there not 4 options on the stalk anymore? My wife's 2010 Clubman has Auto, Off, Parking, and Headlights in that order. Is there no off setting anymore?
Sounds like we're mixing apples and (pure) oranges. These two systems should be separate. If you have DRL active, yes - your lights will be on at all times at a reduced wattage. If you have your light switch set to AUTO - your lights will come on or to full power when it gets dark. If you do not want AUTO, don't use it. If you don't want DRL, that's another setting change - that the mfg usually makes difficult to keep you from fiddling with it.

I agree. I also think there should be more choices, they certainly have the computer to do it. I want to have the running lights just above the fogs on as DRL's and not the headlights. I also want the ease of the the Auto function. Unfortunately you cant have both. Hurry up and wait!
