Spacers

I have a 03 Cooper and am running stock 16" 5 spokes. Don't currently have the money to drop on 17" rims and tires so I got some 20mm spacers and 1 1/2 inch lugs (Bad idea?). Will post pics when able.

I think its a good idea. Why not wait til your tires are all done and worn out and buy a set of SLITES.. I have a set of s-lites for 80 if you live in Nor-Cal.

I am running the stock 5 spokes too, I painted them gloss black and added a time attack style red stripe. And I am in love with them, I dont plan on upgrading for awhile so I'd love to see what the spacers look like on for a more aggressive stance

Now that is without spacers, so I would love to know what I would need to get it sitting flush and see a pic

Just be careful with 20mm spacers. That's a big spacer and will put some serious stress on the lug bolts.

I ran 15mm spacers for a while, but the next time I took off my wheels, the lug nuts were really putting up a fight. The studs even backed out with a few of them.

I'm not sure what that means? Did you use 1.5 lugs?

Your selling a set of 4 for 80.00? Will you ship?

Here are the 20mm spacers.

Well I did it and am pretty happy with the results. I only had 1.5" lugs, but have 2" inchers on order (stupid safety)

Scott,
I have to admit that looks pretty good. How does it ride and handle now? I got my offset with new rims and tires but the 5 spokes are nice rims.

what brand of spacers did you get? I was looking at some 10-15mm H&R spacers.

Rides the same, haven't really pushed it too far as far as performance... waiting til my new 2" lugs come.

Nice mini! What did you do to get the fat chrome trim on the front and back bumper black? Plasticoat or vynil?
Can you send a pic of the back?

As long as you torque your lugs to the proper specs and check them regularly a 20mm spacer shouldn't cause any problems.

Here are the spacers I used. Very good quality and tight fit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...d=434821092005
