How to display digital speedometer ?

Hey guys,

so i am thinking of upgrading from a 2004 mc to a 2008 mc. I love the digital speed readout on my tach on my 04 cooper. All the newer models I test drove (2007 + ) I could not figure out how to display the digital speed readout on the tach...

Is this still an option? I absolutely hate looking at the analog dials... I love the convenience on my 04 of just looking and seeing my speed at a glance.

Is this still an option? If so, how do I enable it?

Thanks guys!

-Nick

Yes, it is enabled by pushing the end of the turn signal stalk in. This cycles through the different screens in the display. When you get to the one that has instantaneous speed, leave it and after a few seconds it will transfer that to the display above. It looks like this.

I wish that it would stay on the lower screen and leave the extra info in the top screen though. You loose extra info when it goes to the top.

If memory serves me (and it seldom does very well anymore) I think he is referring to the clock. I know you can see the time in the stereo display so you should be OK.

Mount a ScanGauge and have 'MPH' (and three other digital readouts) next to your Tach.

(Way-Motor-Works Vendor group-buy at $150 shipped, for the next week. )

Clock and temp. For some reason the temp doesn't show on my bottom screen. I can't read the clock on the speedo since it doesn't have the cool color changing LCD display. Sun is always right on the speedo since I have an R57, and the top is always down.

I was so used to the little nubby button on the 02 - 06's I didn't realize there was a button on the end of the stick on the newer ones.

You better read the manual because that button is of great importance. It's also how you program all your configurations into the car along with service and warning info's.

Cut yeagymeister a little slack, as he has a 1st Gen and is considering a 2nd Gen.

Pages 18 and 19 (on my US MINI Owner's Manual) have reference to pages needed for programing Personal Profile's for each Key/Fob.

Some of the settings on the 1st Gen could only be programmed by a MINI Dealership,
2nd Gen's are user programmable, but functions are scattered throughout the OM and the Stereo 'fold-out' Card.
