My MC is crossing the Atlantic on the way to Panama and I'm thinking about stripes. My original order didn't have any stripes, but my MA said this could be done at the dealer/VDC when delivery nears.

Originally, I was planning on white sport stripes for my SS/W. Then, I saw the JCW F1 mockup for the 50th Anniversary, a NM-BRG with black bonnet stripes and a white roof, which looks fantastic. I think the white lining on the black bonnet stripes makes all the difference – it's subtle but still matches the roof color. Very nice, indeed.

So has anyone done this to their MINI? Pics, advice, opinions, and warnings are all welcome.

(In the end, they went with a white roof and white stripes. Go figure. )

 

Since it is meant to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Cooper F1 cars, it is appropriate that it have the same coloring.

 

I wish I could mismatch the roof and the mirrors. I like the white roof, but I just don't like the look of white mirrors for some reason.

 

^^ You can pick up mirror caps on eBay for pretty cheap. They usually have black and white, but I see some with factory paint pop up from time to time.

 

But a new set of caps then, they are easily switched.
