Bumper Fitment Question

Hello all, new to the site. My dad (who doesn't really use computers) just picked up his new BRG Cooper S from the dealer today. We love it. The only thing that has been bothering us is that there is what seems to be a bumper fitment problem.

Where the hood meets the bumper on right driver's side of the car..the bumper sticks out about a half inch, while the passenger's side is just about flush. We aren't sure if it should be this way or not. If anyone can help, please let me know. Our nearest dealer is almost 2 hours away

Yeah, does look a little screwy. Unfortunately if you want it fixed it means a trip to the dealer...

Any idea how this could have happened? Maybe in delivery?

Sorry to say I would have refused delivery until it was fixed, now the Dealer may question "How did THAT happen??" Did you call them as soon as it was noticed...if not then call 1st AM...let them know you are coming down for IT to be fixed...ask for a Loaner if it will be a while.

Brand NEW Cars should NOT be Delivered with issues like this!!

Yeah, it looks like there's something out of sorts with that. I would guess it's an error in assembly, if there's no obvious damage to the bumper.

I wouldn't get too bent out of shape (sorry, no pun intended) about it, that sort of thing is hard to catch when you're first looking at the car. I would also expect that the dealer won't make a big deal about it, again as long as there's no damage visible to the bumper.

BTW: that looks like pretty nice carpet that you're parking your car on. Now that's the way to treat your Mini.
