Anyone sprayed their rims black?

Sounds weird and completely cheap, but has anyone done it? If so, how does it look? Would it hold up to heat and dust?

I like these rims:

Great look and price, I just dont want a red stripe on my PW/B blacked out wheels look.

Any help is appreciated.

I have seen powder coated black and they look real nice. Way better option than spray painting.

Sprayed my s-lites. There were imperfections but didn't notice them when they were on the car. I decided to spray my R90's still with some imperfections which are not really noticeable with flat black. I used the duplicolor wheel paint which has a slight metallic sheen after sanding and a coat of primer. No problems with durability with the s-lites so far.

Same thing I did. I used this concept on 3 diffrent wheels. Here is a link of my car where you can see a detail picture of one wheel.

Also rattle canned ours, even left the tires mounted. Did it two years ago, still looks great.

i did my ASA AR1s in flat black. it came out with imperections that can't be seen 2 feet away but i know they're there and its bugging the hell out of me. i plan powdercoat them eventually. other than that they make my MINI look mean!
