blacked out a couple things today

i felt like painting some interior things that have been in my room for ever. i also reinstalled them as well lol.

slowly but surely, the interior will be 100% black, as will the exterior.

started off painting this clock. all these pieces used to be gray, like the headliner and the a/b/c pilliars.

looks great IMO. also put the rearview in, even though its pointless, i just put it in to cover the hole in the headliner where the mirrior mounts to. helps hold up the headliner as well.

next was the little things for the visors. the other piece that screws to the headliner is attached to the visor itself. the visors are a single piece, they dont "pry" apart like alot of visors do. they're still gray, im taking them to get stiched up in black suede in a week or 2, when my upholstery guy isnt too busy.

then we got the dome light. i painted the housing for it black, as well as the 2 little side pieces. i cant remember if there was bulbs in there, but who cares, there isnt any now.

this thing is the cover piece that goes over the toggle switches for the windows/locks/fog light switch/etc

well theres enough room for 6 toggles. mine didnt have that 6th option, so it was empty. i got a toggle from another MINI, and i planned on putting my bass **** behind it a while back, but it didnt work out, so i just left the panel off for a while. i had drilled the hole out in that 6th place, for the extra toggle. since its not gonna work, i needed to fill the hole.

BONDO!

ive only primed it so far. ill put the final coat of black on it tomorow.

Suede headliner? Nice! Did you do it yourself or did you have it done?

i could have done it myself, but i paid a friend that does upholstery for a living $50 to cover the headliner, A, B, C pillars, and the side rear panels on the sides of the seat in the back (now my speaker box lol)

i provided the material, and took the pieces out and brought them to him.

hes going to be covering my sunvisor's soon

the "dye" used for the pieces

i guess im going to just dye the center console too. will be too complicated to cover. not worth the hassle.

those silver rings are going black too. unless i decide to mount those gauges above the steering wheel

i dont need this anymore, anyone want it?

I like the reservoir idea. I'll have to do that next.
Here are a few things I've done in the engine bay that you may like as well.
Hood release, dip stick, overflow tank, and pulled the green and yellow sticker off the radiator.

Oh and I'll take the gauge panel if you're just getting rid of it.lol

Maybe you could type up the part number and the actual name of the color...ie: flat black, matte black, gloss black, etc. And the brand of the paint is SEM? Am I reading that correctly? Pics a little blurry

yea, says SEM. its gloss black, although some things come out more of a matte/flat. i re did some things, becuase i painted some in the cold, and it came out flat.

warm/sunny outside, it comes out more gloss.

pretty sure mine is gloss black. i dont think its satin.

they sell dupli color "vinyl dye" at autozone, but i got this at the upholstery wholesaler near me where i get my suede and vinyl. was 10 bux i believe. about the same as that link i just posted.

i just cleaned and degreased, primed with some duplicolor "sandable" primer, and then applied the SEM stuff.

I don't know if it has helped or not, but for everything under the hood I put down a layer or two of BBQ grill paint and then Fusion on top of that. That way I get the satin black color I like and hopefully get the heat protection to hold the paint. I have no science to back it up and I'm sure someone will laugh at my process, but it's held up for several months, so I'm sticking with it.
Just a FYI.

I'll get some tomorrow when I have some light.
If you're wanting to get rid of that gauge panel let me know. I have been wanting to get gauges but not needing to spend any more money. If I got that part it may make me "need" them more.
