Rear Ended ! Need a body shop.

My poor baby! MR MINI got rear-ended today in Louisville by a lady not paying attention. Damage appears to be fairly minor -- a split in the rear bumper which looks to be pushed in a bit. I think MINIs are pretty tough. The other car ('95 Olds Cutlass Supreme) looked worse.

SO... I need a recommendation for a body shop in the north end -- around Broomfield, Boulder, Westminster, Arvada. Any suggestions?

HI, I have no suggestions for you as I'm in Texas... but my sympathies and I hope your recovery is fast. My MINI is in the body shop now for the same reason. I'm driving a POS Mitsubishi rental and feeling overwhelmingly depressed... no MINI for another 2-3 weeks, maybe longer. Driving is no fun anymore. I need a Sick Mini Support Group to join.

Vince,

I have used Fisher Auto Body at Fisher Honda/Chev. for lots of repairs since 1992. They are good and do good work.

I would check with Schomp and see who they recommend. There is a place in Broomfield, but since I'm traveling here in California, can't remember the name. I think if you search here for Broomfield you might get a hit.

Sorry to hear about your crash in my home city, your wife is ok? The MINI can be repaired. I dread the day I get any type of a crunch on Scooter.

Take care... Don

sorry to hear about your MINI. SPOON was taken to Auto Image but they're south of Denver in Castle Rock. They were pretty good with him. If you decide to take it south then I'd recommend them. I worked with a guy named Phil.

No evident injury to my wife -- she'll see her friend (passenger) today and I hope she has no complaints. Those semi-continuous-right-turn lanes are notorious for rear-enders when you have to wait near the end of the turn. I try to hang back in the curve if I see that situation setting up.

When hit, they were just sure that the back end would be really ugly -- so they were really surprised to find just a crunched bumper. I hope that's all it is! The left-side wheel well trim is pushed out a bit near the bumper. When she drove home she said there were no rattles or evidence of problems. Pretty solid MINI, it seems.

Anyone heard about Global Collision repair shops (Boulder, Denver, ...) ??

The two quality mechanics I know in the area are Autosport Werks and Bimmerhaus. I used to take my 325 to Cal at Autosport, but Bimmerhaus also has an excellent reputation. I would call and see if they do body work. If not, I am sure they will have excellent recommendations. Good luck.

OK, thanks for the feedback and moral support. No clear winner up my way so I'm going with Global Collision in Boulder. They show lots of Beemers and such on their website so I'm suitably impressed. Work starts next Tues. I'll give a report after all is done.

Don, I work with a guy who had a mixed experience at Fisher. I'm glad you got good results.

Good Job

Got my baby back on Wed. I liked the results and they really cleaned the car inside and out -- even tho they were basically only replacing a rear bumper. Good job, Global Collision in Boulder!
