is the carbon fiber hood out for the mini S yet? does anyone

smg, a frequent poster on mini2 and sometims posts here has a CF hood on his car

 

mine is in, I posted some Pic's a few days ago

 

I think they're looking for the entire hood.

A la the Civics, Acuras, etc. running around... it does save lots of weight though. The problem with the MINI is the design of the bonnet. If someone makes a proper one that actually fits, it's going to be expennnnnnnnnnnnnnnsive.

i'm sure it's expensive, but if you've got to have it, it's out there!

 

ok guyz. thanks for the info. smg does not live in the states (I think) i thought maybe someone had some info about that for the u.s. I guess i have to wait, and search. i think it'll be out soon, and hopefully not tooooooo expensive!

Well. I believe BFP is working on this item, I would contact them about it.

I will have a full carbon fiber hood available early next week. I will QC the first unit out of the mold and if everything
looks good I will be able to take orders right away.

M7 is indeed going to have a CF hood, and Peter is a perfectionist when it comes to products. These guys live and breathe MINI, and as far as we (BFP) are concerned, this base is completely covered by M7 Speed.

Ok......now we're talkin'! i would like to see pics, and specs if its possible. is the price going to be WAY high? i still would like to know more about this, thanks!

 

I will have all the info, price and specs in the begining of the week and if possible I+

Is this going to be a primarily esthetic (I know I spelled that wrong, sorry) mod, or will it be legitimately light-weight? Most cf hoods I have seen (for any car) weight about the same as a standard hood - I would paint it if I got it so I want to make sure there's a point to purchasing it. Thanks
