if you remove the chrome trim around the taillight, it exposes some screws which i think hold the light in place... im not for sure though.

To remove the chrome trim, simply pry the piece off. Its held in by some clips.

The car hit a pole on the pass side. It is mine now but I'm not the one who wrecked it.

In the cubby below the AC controls.
There is a little plastic cover that pops out.

How much would you want for that?

You pop off the chrome trim carefully
with a screwdriver (does not take a lot of force
at all)

There are two torx screws that hold the light on.

Actually, there are three torx that hold the taillight in place. If you look carefully in between the trim and the body of the car you will see the actual slots where the tabs push into. Take a piece of electrical tape and put it over the tip of a skinny flat head screwdriver. This keeps from chipping the paint and the plastichrome. Place the screwdriver between two of the slots (top center of the trim is the first on I would do) then CAREFULLY start prying. You will hear a click when it starts to pop off. Do the same all the way around. After that's off there are three torx. After the torx are off, there is still a little bit of wiggling to do to get the tailling out. JUST BE PATIENT and remember, these things are made of plastic and will break if you rush or try to force it.

Once the light is out, do you know if the clear plastic seperates from the red? I need to put an end to the orange circle! It looks like the red and orange are glued together, but some red translucent vinyl should fix it up.

Also (I remember now) when you go to pull it out
there are these (not sure of the word) clips you
need to pinch together from the backside by
reaching your hand in the boot/fenderwell.
