R50/53 yet another exhaust question
yet another exhaust question
hey guys, just got an 02 MCS and have already started the mod proscess. i have read the other exhaust threds but still have a few questions, mainly in the invidia catback. any experience with it? thanks
Invidia G200 Exhaust Systems are high-end exhaust systems. Designed for the race-inspired enthusiasts who only want the top quality catback exhaust, the Invidia catback exhaust systems combine top quality materials and superb craftsmanship.
Constructed with high quality stainless steel and manufactured with a fully polished finish. All feature mandrel-bent piping for maximum exhaust flow and reduced back pressure. Crafted using robot-TIG welding for a uniform weld. All flanges on each Invidia G200 catback exhaust are CNC-machined for precision.
Whether your engine is stock or heavily modified. Invidia catback exhausts are engineered to produce strong mid to top-end power gains, as well as an increase in horsepower and torque. Invidia exhaust systems are dyno proven to maximize engine response and power. Known for their consistent quality, performance, and superb craftsmanship.
Complete catback units, which do not effect emissions related hardware. Bolted on out of the box, using factory mounting hangers. No welding is needed to mount the exhaust.

The model available for the MCS is the Invidia N1, not the G200. A minor point, but should help avoid confusion. For example, the group buy is for the N1.
Do a search within the 1st Generation MINI drivetrain modification forum for "invidia" and you'll find a ton of info. It may be only second to the Milltek for the number of positive comments on that subforum. considering it's about 3 hundy less expensive, it's a great compromise. That is, unless you like it really loud, in which case you should consider the Magnaflow.

Best sound for the buck has to be the Doug Thorley/Jardine system. Outmotoring.com sells them. I have it w/o the resonator and LOVE IT!
All stainless (not polished) pipes/hardware.
Friends have the boring sounding Alta, Cheap **** One Ball cut job, Borla Street, etc. (My opinion)
Sounds awesome out of box, even better after a few miles.
All for less the $400.
And by the way - "If it's too loud, you're too old!"

Here is mine:
It's an awsome looking/sounding exhaust. My friend is a professional welder (stainless steel pool railings) and he said they were the best welds and bends he has every seen on a stainless steal. The sound is agressive and comparable an audi w/ a performance exhaust. It still to this day is the best mod that i think i have done

Hope this helps, Dan MSF
