Looking for a road...

Ok, a bit vague but here I go.

Years ago I saw on TV a road being built in a canyon along a river. It is really cool how the engineers integrated the road and made it "flow" with the river. Like they built a road suspended off the side of the mountain and not on land next to the river. I did not say it was going to be easy.

I would guess that this road would be in Colorado or such states with mountains.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did it stick out from the hills, like a balcony?

But it is fairly new-ish.

So it's not carved into the hill, but suspended from the hill?

I think you are referring to I70 through the Glenwood Canyon area in Colorado. Pretty and dramatic!

Nice place to motor!

Thanks!!! I am thinking that is the road. I guess my description kind of sucked. Like I said, I saw it a while ago. Looking at the history I guess it was not as new as I thought.

Thanks again.

Its an impressive piece of engineering! I saw a show on it once either on a Discovery channel or PBS.

.... and driven it both on a Harley and in a MINI several times! Fun!

I too think that is the road. That section of I-70 was a real pain before the elevated section was put in.
