Want more power out of your Cooper S? Let more air in! Our Power Flow intake kit allows more air to enter the engine than the factory air filter. You'll get stepped-up performance you can both feel and hear power is increased by nearly 13hp and torque goes up by a whopping 12lbft. Polished aluminum housing prevents the filter from sucking in power-robbing, hot air created by the engine. (Plus it looks really sharp in the engine compartment!) Installation is a simple, bolt-on procedure detailed instructions included.
Bavarian Auto

does anyone have this kit?? are the claims of 13 hp and 12 lbft of torque reliable??? that is really high, i think the highest, and it is only 180 dollars?!? anyone have any info on this? randy?

I find that pretty unlilkely, but if you believe it go get one, dyno it and let us all know. I have been wrong may times before and I'm not about to quit being wrong now.

Even if it doesn't put out 13 hp it at least looks nice.

BMP said it gave about 12hp, in actuallity it gave closer to 7 (without airbox mod.)
I really doubt the claims of 13. My 2 cents

I only saw about 4hp when I dyno'd my BMP intake vs the 7-9 I got on the same day with the Rogue.

And that's definitely a rebadged BMP intake heat shield. No doubt about it. Well, if it isn't BMP, I should say it's quite the knock off. Appears to have a different filter element though.

I got a response already -

Geoff,
Unfortunately, we do not have any dyno results for this unit as yet.

first i would like to say that that looks just like the bmp one i put in just last week. even the air filter looks the same. so does the bmp one have a k & n air filter or something else. mine isn't k & n and i want to be sure i didn't get something diferent.
also, can someone please tell me more about the air box mod? as my search didn't pull up anything. maybea link to it, or the how-to if someone feels like writing that up.

So they claim 13hp gain without dyno testing. What source of data did they use as a basis for the claim? A Medicine Man reading goat entrails?

See This for information. It's found under the How-To post, which is the first or second post in the forum.

Naw, a mechanic threw bolts on the floor and interpreted them.

I'm with you all, I highly doubt that it gives a 13 hp increase, but you all should not be so stuck on Dyno results. As many have said, if someone wants to fudge numbers they can get a Dyno to read just about whatever they want. Instead, I would look at the filter and see that it is similar in size and material to the madness, but for a much lower price. The heat shield is an intersting design too.

Are you trying to tell me that Trippy DIDN'T get a 5hp increase by sawing his ignition key in half? You mean those dyno graphs lied? I'm so disillusioned.

Understood, but given the results seen on other apparently comparable intakes, 13hp seemed a BIT hard to believe. If it's not 13hp, then it's false advertiving - no? Or, mayby just wishful thinking.
