Maybe reordering

I ordered my automatic MC a while back and it is almost here. The problem is that I am having second thoughts. As I mentioned on another thread I did not order DSC but now I really wish I would have.

I am considering reordering and including DSC in the order. I am not a fast driver but I want to have this safety feature. I am afraid of having buyer’s remorse and feeling that my car is not as safe as it could be. I am concerned enough that I am willing to go through the whole waiting process again.

Would anyone here consider reordering in this situation?

Maybe, it depends on what kind of driving you do and what kind of driver you are. Also what kind of climate you live in. There are many cars out there that do not have this feature. A lot of the past cars that i have driven have not had this. I am from ohio and have driven in all kinds of snow and ice, and i seemed to make it through ok. You are right though, it is nice to have some added safety. I don't think it is totally necessary, but it is an added bonus if you do get it. I am in san diego and it only took 7 weeks start to finish to get my car. so really it wasn't that long to wait.

If you want something, you should get it. In a year from having the car, you aren't going to care that it took a couple months to get the car, but you will always miss what you wanted. I think that goes for any option, but in the case of DSC, I would certainly get it.

Thanks for the replies. I may reorder as soon as tomorrow if I do.

One more question-- will the dealer have a problem selling it, or should I not worry about that? I don't want to cause them too much inconvenience.

Probably no trouble with the resale. They may hold your deposit until it's sold, I'm not sure about CA law. I agree with LynnEl, still worth reordering.

I believe that in California the deposit has to be returned right away. If the dealer resists, a little research on the web would find out. I think there are some ca.gov sites that have all the laws.

In my experience, I've always regretted taking a vehicle that did not have exactly the options that I wanted...If you want DSC, you should go ahead and re-order.

On this note, anyone have any idea if DSC adds any weight to the vehicle? Or is that the ABS that is already included on all the cars now?

My problem is that I want to give DSC a chance, but $500 for something I may get to the point I shut it off everytime....that's what I am afraid I would regret....

Why would you shut it off everytime? You never know when you are going to need it. Search the forum to hear about how the DSC has saved lives - when least expected. I say go for it.
