I got it a few days ago. This issue (#14) is about Mexico City. The CD has 5 songs, "ABCDF Film Clips", Isle of MTV Game, and a MINI Calendar 2005 screensaver.

Meg, go to the MINI International web site -you can get to it via the MINI USA site. From there you will be able to find the magazine and you can order a FREE copy!!! The magazine is interesting as it really is more about the country that is featured than it is about MINI but there are usually some super photos of MINI and as James stated above a CD. The CD usually has a MINI game or screensaver or something like that and then has music also. Overall it's pretty cool. Periodically you will see Issue #1 for sale on ebay. Recently there has been a guy selling a ton of them(#1) so if you get a chance get the free one and then check out the back issues if you can locate copies- Lot's of photos!!!!
A couple of us are trying to track down a MINI ad that was in ESPN magazine in '04. Does anyone get this magazine or know anyone who does? I'm thinking that it could be in an August, Sept. or Oct issue- If anyone knows anything more specific, please let us know---Thanks!!!
Quick question for all you professional ad collectors. What do you do with the two pages ads (like the computer one and the convertible poster ones)? I can't decide if I should take it out of the magazine and how I should go about doing this and I don't want to ruin the ad?
I leave them in the magazines. That means they don't go in the binders with the single-page ads and inserts. Once you get duplicates, you could take the magazine apart at the spine or remove the staples and have two whole sheets which you could face in a binder. There's no good solution.

Hi All! I've had a lousy last two weeks- my father in law has been in the hospital and then on Tuesday, I hit a deer, or the deer hit me, I guess...in my MINI- I'm dropping it off this weekend for body work... I'm ok but my bonnet, front bumper and headlight aren't!
Any way... back to the subject at hand....I don't consider myself a professional ad collector like James and since I haven't saved magazines, I realize that I'm really not ...I have removed mine from the magazine and put in the clear protective sheets. The magazines that don't fit into the sheets are scaned and printed out on 8 1/2 by 11 paper so that they can be put into a binder. I save the larger ads flat then but have recently been saving the magazines for these larger ads. When I find the ad in a smaller size, then the scanned copy has been replaced-

Anne, don't be so modest, you ARE a pro. You've put more effort into finding them than I have! I work in a library and most ads come to me. I do have most of them loose in binders. And I have started a duplicate binder (which I don't carry to meets) as well as the intact magazines. Three copies of each ad is overkill, but I generally haven't paid for any of them.
My latest item isn't an ad, but a long jacket from the MINI factory in Oxford. Hopefully it's in the mail, or I should say post, right now.

Hi All! I recently purchased a few small items from a guy in Greece but I don't think that's where the MINI goodies came from...anyone know what country did the MINI, Is It Love campaign? I have a small flip booklet that shows a pencil drawing of the MINI with MINI.Is It Love? MINI In Motion on the cover and a MINI tattoo that has ...wohin du willst! echt nicht weh! on the card with the tattoo that has the MINI wings and MINI.Is It Love? underneath. Any ideas?
Sorry to hear about the deer too, Anne! Another (former) MINI friend hit a deer and totalled his MINI, caught fire and everything... (former) because the MINI was totalled and now he drives a Jetta :(
As for the MINI jacket James has on the way, I got one via ebay about a year ago, but mine is short (waist length) and is quite cool. Buttons up with plastic snaps, fits much like a denim jacket, but is made of a material similar to Dickies shirts/pants. It's definitely a uniform piece as it has a barcode in it, i'm sure for inventory/uniform service purposes.
It's not particularly stylish, but I love it just the same...
The "Is it Love" campaign was used in several countries. I have a sterling silver pendant (looks like a coin) with the MINI logo on the front and "IS IT LOVE?" on the back (engraved). I bought it at a MINI dealer in England in 2003, but have seen the same slogan on the Austrailian MINI site as well...

I have things from Germany with the "Is it love?" slogan (in English). I think it is/was a Europe-wide marketing slogan. I also have a stack of the "...wohin du willst! echt nicht weh!" business cards with tattoo from Germany. (Loosely translated to mean "[Put them]...wherever you want! Really no pain!")
Still waiting on my MINI factory jacket. I got it from eBay, by the way.
How are the repairs coming, Anne?

Haven't had much luck finding stuff lately. Although work has kept me pretty busy so I haven't had much time to go looking. Hopefully this weekend...

Thanks all for the positive thoughts! My father in law came home from the hospital this week so no more trips there hopefully anytime soon. I'm still MINIless
- The dealer 's body shop thought it might take a week and that didn't count if anything was on back order! I'm hoping early next week as I miss my MINI!!!!!
I , like you Donna, would like to spend the weekend "hunting"!!!
Thanks for the help with the non MINIUSA promos James!!!

OK, not really sure where to put this comment so its going here under the general comments and maybe the owner of the soccer shoe-csamf -will see it. We had a new post by someone in the Wanna Trade thread who showed a photo of their car that my husband and I thought was a hoot! You all should check it out if you haven't already (plus he has a customize your rims ad) if you missed it! When I first got my car, my husband said it reminded him of a giant BK sneaker(CR w/UJ) and when I got the phone survey by the marketing people and told them what he had said, they acted surprised so I just never really said any more but when I saw that "giant" MINI "shoe" ,it made me chuckle and maybe it will for you all too!
Hey All! I'm sure everyone is already aware of the new MINI website and commercials for counterfeitmini.org but be on the look out for ads, inserts and other promos related to this new campaign. I have to admit that I haven't seen a commercial yet but did order the dvd from the website- I'm a MINIfanantic, I guess!!! Yet again, another very cleaver marketing campaign!
Cool.
Do you guys have that Cliffs Notes MINI advert? I don't know where it's from...someone put it in my mailbox at work and it's actually still there. I can take a pic if I remember to bring it home and it's something you haven't seen.
I imagine people have seen it though because it probably came from a Car & Driver or something.

i just got my 1:18th scale AUTOart cooper S in electric blue. it has carpeting, doors hinged like real doors, spark plug wires that look real, mesh grilles, rotors that spin around and a hovering caliper that looks real, aluminim sill plates, and other neat stuff. the only other models ive seen like this cost me 180 bucks and it had a working mechanical cloth convertable top! i found mine on ebay for 50 bucks from hong kong, but moss mini sells them for 84.95. ive seent hem on ebay in many other colors, but i think moss only has them in blue and black. check on ebay, you'll find a nice one.

Of course it does not link too well with me - no Cliffs Notes in England when I was at school; I just have to imagine what it is mimicking.
I added an unbelievable amount of MINI stuff to my collection last week. My German visitors brought me some really cool stuff. Also, my MINI factory jacket (from eBay) arrived in the mail from the UK. During my vacation last week, I stopped by Lauderdale MINI and Downtown MINI and got some great promo stuff from both dealers. Then, my friend gave me a new MINI book called You & Your New MINI: Buying, Enjoying, Maintaining, Modifying. Available at Amazon.com.

Ah, a good week...
James
