Value?
How much do you suppose a 1:8 scale RC MINI Cooper is worth. All original packaging. It is complete with working lights, turn signals. You start the car and it makes engine noises and get louder when it starts moving. It has a horn. and when you press the lock button on the radio control the alarm beeps. Pretty cool.
Big Gripper, have you checked out ebay as a way to get an estimate. I saw one from Australia that was 1:6 and the price started about $60- I think....
Anyone know someone who has the convertible? I'm dying to know what goodies that they got different in their welcome kit. I liked the idea of the umbrella....and I don't think they are going to be able to play Bingo very well!

FWIW the one I found at the store looks a little different:

So many ads, so little money. Wonder if my doctor would mind if I started tearing pages out?

Way cool bag!
Looks like MINI One, so probably a UK bag. Though, when I was in England the bag I got at the MINI dealer looked just like the bags we get here.
I can't wait til work slows down so I can catalog my collection...

Found a pic of the bag on this site...

I found it while googling for MINI pics. I have NO idea what any of it says
and I had no idea there were MINI bags out there.

I'm not really collecting bags, but I have a nice translucent one with a big MINI logo and REMEMBER ME. in orange letters. Germany also has the same black outside, orange inside bags.

Because I love collecting the MINI ads so much, and because the Hunter's guide makes it so easy to find them, I took a trip down to my local library tonight to "borrow" some magazines
. Took my Hunter's Guide with me, and started searching. The first dozen mags I looked at already had the ads ripped out of them
. There must be some other MINI nut in my town who already had the idea. I was about to give up when I hit the jackpot. Found almost every ad that was listed in Esquire. The woman at the counter must have thought I was nuts checking out all these Men's magazines...Oh well, I now have at least 6 more ads to add to my collection. I recommend you all check out your local libraries

As a librarian, I hope you are only taking the ads that can be removed without damaging the magazine. I check the new issues at my library weekly and can sometimes get to the ads before the public does. A few times I have bought a newsstand copy to trade my library for their subscribers' copy containing the ad. My library also has a used bookstore which often gets donated magazines with ads, usually sold for 25 cents.
Glad you are using the Hunter's Guide. Let me know of any additions you might have.

I will definitely let you know of any additions I find to the hunters guide. My Dad has gotten me some stuff out of motorcycle magazines where he works, but it was so long ago he nor I remember which ones.
Got one of these a few months back from a Delta Airlines promotion that was going on.

I'm looking for another to go in the climate controlled sealed vault, with the rest of the stuff.

I've been away for a few days but I'm excited to see all the threads on this topic. I vote for James to be the moterator of this section since he is the one who brought us all together! That way someone could make sure that things get put under the proper threads- just think of the posibilities....ads!, pens!, diecast models!, key rings!!! The list could go on for ever!!! By the way did anyone else see the MINI olive oil and vinegar that are for sale on ebay?! Pretty wild!
Sorry..me again...can anyone tell me how when I edit my scans to make them smaller so that I can add them here. I thought I had it set at 200 res. but something isn't working and I'm getting the message that my scan files are too big! Please help!
Once more, I stand on the Irfanview soapbox (assuming you are a PC user at least).
This *free* program is wonderful for doing simple photo manipulations such as cropping, resizing, tweaking contrast, and (I discovered this feature only yesterday) rotating slightly crooked scans.
I downloaded it for a neighbour and used to to crop some knitting pattern scans their daughter had sent them, straightened them, and printed them as near immaculate copies - they were so impressed

Thanks Ian for the help! I tried it several times and a little red x comes up on the Windows XP when I try to download and an error ! appears in the corner so I'm doing something wrong-just don't know what yet! Thanks anyway!
If you are running Internet Explorer with the SP2 update, your pop-up blocker is probably preventing you downloading ...
Go to Tools menu, select Pop-up Blocker and turn it off for a while.

Ian your download worked fine for me, nice little program.
Here are a few shots of a MINI ad, I guess it's falls into the ad category, but it could be a dealer hand-out. I mailed some diecast to another mini owner in England and as part of his payment he sent this:

I can't bring myself to open this so it might be hard to see what I'm talking (?) about. Write if you have questions
As you can see in the bottom portion of the first photo the cutout cars fit in the Harmonic Ambience Facilitator and then you hold them up to "your world" to see how the MINI will fit!
Don't know about you guys, but mine fits fine
