Folllowing Annes prompt in the bill board thread, I am joining here ... I can probably claim nearly every MINI thing, but I only have a few posted onto my web site so far ...
The GBMINI collection

By the way, I recently scanned the How To Motor In A MINI that TwitchInc was probably asking about.

Does *anyone* have the Achievements In Motoring jigsaw puzzle opened? I fear opening my one in case it is a letdown inside.

I have a bunch of the MINI magazine ads, and quite a few die cast models and remote control cars, too..

Ian, I was hoping you'd find this thread since I heard you also had a big collection of MINI items.

Do you think that the How To Motor in a MINI page counts as an ad (by MINI) or an article (by Playboy)? I've never considered it as an ad.

Do you have any ads that aren't on my list?

James

Ok James, I have to give my two cents again...and since Ian hasn't responded- I don't think of it as an ad (the PB- How to Motor In a MINI) but I do think the ad company had a hand in the design. The same goes for the Weekly World News thing- not an ad but diffently something put out by MINI to generate interest- I'm wondering if there are more like that though-

My collection of marketing stuff will never be as extensive as some of yours... but I do hang on to what I come across... and I went out of my way to pick up a couple of the "IS MY TOP CLOSED?..." bumper stickers.

Godspeed.

Probably the lists under MINI Collectables here:

http://www.minisoforlando.org/letslearn.html

You should add this Matchbox car to your list:

http://www.matchbox.com/us/product.a...ory_type_id=17

FWIW the one I found at the store looks a little different:

Yes, that's the list! James has done a wonderful job with the site. He singlehandly posted all the information. Pretty extensive library of the last several years of MINI ads, collectibles, marketing stuff, etc.

Turns out I don't have many MINI adverts after all

I don't think I ticked more than half of the "Hunter's Guide".

I could cheat and point to some Canadian or English stuff

I have three of the four state sticker sheets so I am missing one of those too.

Anybody have a way to organize this thing so we can list what we have to trade each other? Or maybe list what what we need to complete our collection? I'm really not very smart about these things-

Anne, that's why I was hoping for an entire forum with multiple threads.

The address above is correct, but the direct one for the MINI Print Ads and Inserts list is http://www.minisoforlando.org/miniprintads.html. The Hunter's Guide is linked from there.

early_apex, The Matchbox list is a bit out of date. Thanks for the addition.

Ian, you are missing the LET'S GO FROM MI TO WI... ad.

(Let me know if you want a bigger scan.) Do you have all of the MINI World Challenge items? I only have the origami kit.

I'm working on a Press Kits list, but it's nowhere near complete.

James

Wow James - you now have your own forum! Better start using it!

Does anyone have an extra "MI to WI" to complete my set?

I feel guilty for selling but I'm a little limited about trading as I most of the ads that owner's are interested in obtaining. I can make a list of the ads that I'm looking for and if anyone wants ads, i can certainly eliminate ebay , so let me know-althought at the moment, the Mod Libs ad that i have for sale is the only one that I have currently-

Thanks for the new forum!

Some of the new "OPEN" ads can be found in current/recent newsstand issues. It's usually only the inserts that come in subscribers' copies.

Off to a MINI meet...

Maganoo- Check out James' post #37 above you. He has a site listed- You will be in awe of all the ads! The most recent ads are at the bottom. Most of the Open Ads have been in the newstand issues of the magazines. It might be also listed as subscription-those are usually the more elaborate ads.

I've heard about the toggle switch labels set, but I haven't found it. Is that an ad or a "brochure"? Did it used to come with a new MINI?

Hi trplezero! The MINI relabeling toggle switch sticker page is in the back of the Unauthorized Owner's Manual. You should be able to get one of these booklets from MINIUSA for free! Somebody is selling them periodically on ebay for about $10- but try MINI first- Your dealer may also have them in their vending machine. Check out those places and see if you can get one-

I'm really not into the collecting of the MINI cars-but maybe someone who is could start a thread here as I can tell from my time on ebay that there are some collectors out there! Someone from our great state of Hawaii told me that his living room was getting overrun with cars and that the gf was getting concerned! So I know that you're out there folks!!

Also my dealer is going to have a holiday party this week and I'm going to go to see the new MINI's and what goodies that they have- I'll keep you all posted!

A lot of the magazines he lists are Nov issues. I don't think they would still have them in the stores, but thanks.
