Visited the local MINI dealership and...

I was there dreaming, as usual and I came across Jim Kenzie's Targa Newfoundland MINI. I asked the sales person if I could take some pictures and she said sure but she didn't have the key or I could have gotten some better interior shots. Anyway, here's how they came out, just using my Canon sure shot digital. Can't wait until I can walk into that dealership and order my Cooper S, dare to dream.

Those pics are so cool...thanks for having the presence of mind to snap off a few. I'm not sure I would have because that is just so darn exciting. Truly a history-making MINI...no one can argue that!!!

I saw Jim Kenzie at the SAE World Congress kickoff event in Detroit. 103 MINIs went from the SAE world headquarters in Troy to Comerica Park in Detroit. They closed off *75 so we could all get on the freeway--what fun!! He spoke at the event lunch and had lots of funny stories about the race and how he was in a class against cars with 500 hp. Hope you can order your Cooper S soon. I love my Chili Red MINI!

^^^I was there too Laurel. What an entertaining guy Jim is! He led the parade down I-75 in the race car.

I could not believe they stopped traffic on 75 for like 15 minutes while over a hundred MINIs entered the freeway!

Here's a crummy pic of the mess we made:
