Photo Post - Corsair F4U-4 / F4U-5

A few photographs of the F4U Corsair. One of the most beautiful aircraft ever designed and flown.

Taken at Corsairs over Connecticut - June 2005.

Leica.

Thanks for looking.

William

Very nice, although I prefer the WWII paint schemes vs. the post WWII as the ones in the photos.

Great pics - thanks for sharing. I love reading and viewing anything I can get my hands on about WW II aircraft. I saw a Corsair coming in for a landing a few years ago at an airfield in central NJ - it passed over my car at a couple hundred feet. I heard it before I saw it - what a marvelous sound!

SWEET!!!

I am a fan of WWII aircraft, and the Corsair is one of my favorites. Saw a P-51 Mustang a couple of years ago doing a Heritage Flight with an F/A-18 at an airshow. Awesome sight seeing them fly in formation.

My father flew these in WWII, helping get them carrier-certified. The one in this photo has the early cockpit cover, before they raised the seat and added the bubble cover.

The corsair is a truly beautiful aircraft, any front/rear photos?
I wish I'd been around them scine getting into photography.
Here is a shot I took of a B-25 at an airshow in Nov.
