Mini Cam Mount

Has anyone built or does anyone sell a Mini Can Mount that will fit easily into my Mini? I am looking to set my camcorder to run while I am either taking a session at the track or on an event run. If I were able to mount the Mini Cam, I could actually pay attention to driving while taking the video. I have seen these in race cars. Just wondered if anyone has done this with a Mini.

Thanks

Realizing that it is too late as you have already placed an order... If you can find a tripod head for a reasonable price, the rest of the rig is dirt cheap and easy to make. A piece of square aluminum tubing and two u-bolts.

Pictures of my rig are here:

Am I missing something on their web site there are no photos of any of the products they sell. How is one supposed to know what they are buying with no product photos?

What is exactly required for it to pass tech inspection for driving events? I haven't been to any schools yet with mine but did build it with safety in mind. Instead of a straight aluminum tube. I angled mine back just in case there was an accident. I would hope the metal tube would not be dangerous if an instructor were in the car. Especially my wife during MINI runs.

I would suggest contacting this vendor. They may have some suggestions for what you are trying to accomplish:

VacuCams will pass as well. I've had 4 cameras mounted--2 exterior and 2 interior with wires all over, and the driving school instructor both as a driver and a passenger, and they are like "WOW, What the h*ll?? " Then they can't stop playing with it.

I'm like, "Please don't open your door all the way otherwise it will disconnect my camera."

Nothing beats a cage for camera mounting.
