Los Angeles Hidden By Clouds
Los Angeles Hidden By Clouds
Taken from the top of Mt. Wilson on Saturday. Yes, Los Angeles really is down there under the cloud cover.

Damned Good Pic!!!
Dang Dave, that is one awesome pic!
Love the tones and that added touch of the tree branches in the foreground for perspective. Nature can be so majestic eh. Thanks for linking to the larger version also.
I trust you enjoyed that fun road up the mountain.

Mt. Wilson
Great pic Dave. The road up to Mt. Wilson ( and down) is usually better than the view from the top. Last time I was there I counted 106 turns in about 4.5 miles - baby Dragon?
Very tight - granite cliffs on one side and 500 foot drop offs on the other in several spots. Your brakes get a good workout on the downhill.

so true
Donna: check out the C3 events forum for more discussion on the drive. What a great time.
scooby & Cooper_Si: It looks higher than it is, while impressive in terms of elevation gain to the basin below, there are a lot of spots in the U.S. plenty higher (in Colorado there are 53 peaks above 14,000 ft.
).
hafid: thanks, glad you like the photo.
Juan: We had a v. good trip up around and down the Angeles National Forest on Saturday.
CFMINI: definitely a lot of great roads out here. I'll let someone else comment on the baby Dragon status though, as I still haven't been out there to drive it.
Clo: The clouds were exceptional yesterday. Just stunning.
lisdexic: When we were headed out to the meet up point in Sunland it was looking really grim in terms of the haze and overcast. At points it almost looked like smoke from a forest fire.
Then to pop up on top and see this
amazing.
Here are a couple more from yesterday
