onasled, once again, very nice! A true joy to watch...

Hey, in this vid, were you still running with the 3% crank pulley?

Thanks for the confirmation. Glad to hear that the lightened crank is still running strong, and without issues!

I hope you have no serious damage to your PSS9's from that impact... I remember that you are quite low, and do bump-stop with harsh hits. Heck, if you haven't already done so, check to see if your shock towers have ballooned any. My driver side was, and had to be smacked by down. Obviously, that would alter the alignment...

Speaking of which, what is your alignment these days? I'm going-in soon and need to find a nice compromise as 1/3 of my commute is canyon and twisty rural roads, but the remainder is highway and city streets. Was thinking about -2.0 front, and -1.8 rear...

Will be checking alignment this afternoon.

At this time I'm as close to -3 as I can get in the front. Problably about -2.6.
Rear is about -2, but I will increase that a bit today. Front toe is 1/8" out and rear is 0.
I think that 2 in front and 1.8 rear is a great place to start for twisty road stuff. Think about 1/16 toe out in front with this.

At some point I'll be getting my own alignment stuff. Doing Lime Rock tomorrow and if I had it now I would set the car up just for that track. Would be something like
Driver side front, -3
Passenger side front, -1 to 0
Driver rear, -2.5
Passenger rear , -1.5 to -1

Sounds like you have Lime Rock down pretty well to feel that such an alignment is the way to go there.

I hope your alignment checked-out ok today...

With about -2.6F and -2.0R, about how many miles were you getting on your street tires? Assuming you used that alignment on the street also...

Just got home from LRP. Fun day
Alignment was not bothered by that hit so it seems. I did bump it up to -3 front and -2.4 back. Car really sticks.
"Street tires", what are those? ... Tony, I don't even have a set of street tires anymore. I rarely drive the car on the road, but that might change.
Anyway, street tires will wear pretty uneven with those settings.

I sort of figured that your MCS was evolving into a track only car...

Glad all is ok, and that Randy's plates and the PSS9's can go out to -3!!! Keep the vids coming

I wanna drive just like you . Yes it's partly the car but more importantly it's the hands that this car is in. Dude, you rock. Very quick, very smooth = very FAST Give us a run down of your mods. Please include tire/wheel package. I don't hear your tires screaming the way mine do .

I am going to the Wicks Driving school @ Laguna Seca in December. Any tips on getting some quality video. I have to get a camera support but also am a little concerned that my camera may be a little large. It's a Sony DRC-TRV350 Digital 8 Handycam. It's not a Beta camera but it's fairly large compared to what's out there today. You ever have a camera come loose or even off during a run?

Keep the vids coming.

So tell us ALL about the tires you brought to the FUN day at Lime Rock. Please don't leave out how you stuffed them under that car!

Thanks for the nice words ...
Tires may not be a noisy as yours being I am running R compounds. It also depends on the track suface as to how noisy they get. NHIS is relitivly quiet through it does eat your rubber more. Lime Rock is very noisy due tp all the concrete patches they have.

Camera came loose once, but did not come off. It actually made an interesting movie.. CLICK HERE

I see some older large cameras in cars, but they are more difficult to place. My mount is a roll bar mount so it is very secure. I also use a smaller digital Sony camera.

Hey Paul,
I've been running the TOYO RA1s, 235-40-17 for a while now. I still think they have little advantage over the 205-40s at this time, but I'm beginning to see some handling improovments now that they have been through many heat cycles.
Took a ball peened hammer, a jig saw, a sharp chissel and some wheel spacers to get them to fit, but from just looking at the car you would never know that work was done.

Oh, and I also was finaly able to use my Hoosier wets at LRP. These are 225-45-17s and they are almost the exact size of the Toyos. I'll get a vid of that day up soon. My camera was off on the first and best run.

One can just feel the g forces push and pull that camera all over. Too funny! I sort of liked having the rear perspective also though...

Ever conisder going to a two camera system? One for the windsheild and driver and another for the rear window and then just editing them together?

Saw a guy in an RX8 with a two camera set-up like you describe. I'd love to get more camera angles, but that $$ could do better else where right now.

Tomorrow and Saturday my in car camera will be placed in a American GT Challenge GT-1 race car for the American GT Challenge race at Lime Rock. This car is a thunderious Comaro and will be racing the likes of Paul Newman and many other of the best of the Trans-Am world.

Hope it can handle the vibration and noise of this car. Hope to post vids next week.
