Next time get a side view, I want to see the faces of the "fast car drivers" as you whip past them ...

Wow, everytime I see you race I am so impressed. You make it look so easy. You find the lines through the entire course and it just looks professional.

I love the transparent transitions between front and driver views. It lets me see more of what you are doing to cope with what is outside.

Do you have an archive somewhere. A few months back you had a video of limerock where you passed about 6 or so Porsches and I wanted to show my friends what a MINI in the right hands could do. I think it was the video before the rainy limerock where you spun out. Sorry about those tires man.

Wow, thanks for all the nice comments.

Have not had a chance to really check out if I did any shock damage with that hit. I felt no problems throughout the rest of the day, but it's sometimes hard to tell if a shock is not working properly.

I don't have an "on-line" archive as these videos just take up too much space. I can upload them any time though.

Will be at LRP this week with the Porsche guys again. Hope to have some decent vids from there. Looks like rain though.

Check out this Video of the Red Bull stunt plane that showed up at LRP during Vintage weekend. Video does not come anywhere near what the guy was actualy doing. He was amazing !

Yeah flying rules, I know first hand. A lot of those are simple moves, like slips which done in the right conditions can make a normal small aircraft fly almost sideways, but done really close to the ground (not trying to take away from what this guy is doing...I mean simple moves or not they are very dangerous at that altitude and a few moves apply up to 8 G's to the pilot). You want to see real aerobatics go to Oshkosh, WI. in August. I can tell you from experience that while flying in to that airshow may seem fun and interesting it is very dangerous and very taxing on the pilot.

That is a good example of what good engineering, a large power to weight ratio, and a good pilot can do. I sometimes wish I was around in the days of barnstorming. But then I wouldn't have the chance to drive the MINI.

How Do You Do That??

I have a question that I hope you can answer for me (Onasled). At approx. the 2 min. and 5 min. marks it shows you shifting. How do you achieve such smooth shifts? Like what sorta technique do you use when you are accelerating that hard?

Thanks
Mikey

Are you offering a link? If you are I would love to have this one vid. It was at limerock and I think it was the video before he is racing in the rain and spins. I remember it so well because it was the first video of his that I've seen and there were tons of Porsches that he passes and a few other sports cars. Sorry that is all I remember from that video that stands out.

It's a G-Tech Pro. I tend to only use it as a shift light these days.

I'll get that Lime Rock video loaded and post the link here for those who asked.

GREAT! I get my adrenaline fix just watching. Now I can go out and drive like a sane person. Is there a way to do a split screen, you driving on one side and the windshield view on the other? That way we could see you upshifting and down shifting in relation to whats coming up. Like to see the tach and speedo too. Absolutely great. Thanks for the thrill.

Those are truly things of beauty to watch. Passing Porsche's, S2000's, M3's and who knows what else. They can't get out of the way fast enough.

Wow...that is an R/C plane...right?!? At least the last scene it seems to be small between you and the trees.

The only person I have seen do that in a real plane (and much more), is Sean D Tucker:
