Finally got to edit and post the photos from my vacation couple of months ago. All can be seen at my website at www.jerryp.homeip.net.

Here are the ones that I thought turned out the best:

Edit: I think the above picture show a better crop.

Hot damn Jerry! That second pic really jumps out at me!
I really like that one! Its starkness really adds to the subject matter. The spiraling stairs on that guntower give it a different edge, compared to the diagonal lines.

Wow! great shots...these really get my motor going, I think I'll have to post some of my newer non-Mini photos to share with everyone (look for the thread and you'll understand why...we have similar taste). I really like the turtle shot in the bushes....and I agree with the others on that second one very sharp

Thank you. Actually the shot of the turtle's head is my favorite. But to be honest, it was very accidental. I just zoomed in an shot. I think I've might've even had the camera on indoor settings.

I also always find it interesting how people see different things while looking at the same pic. For me the interesting part of Pic 2 is the fact that the guard tower is dark and sinister, while the cell block is significantly lighter. Also, I have the exact same pic on my web site in color and it totally looses all character when not in B&W.

I totally agree, I have some shots that would never work one way but as soon as you change it they take on a completely different existance. The B&W on that shot gives the location a good feeling of having history

I like the turtle shots the best. There is incredible green from the leaves in those pictures, brightens up the picture.
