Local SoCal Cruise Night Pix: American Muscle

Despite this humid heat we're experiencing, I took my two youngest kids to a local weekly cruise-in car show. No MINI or Mini participants since only American cars, '74 and older, are allowed.

In attendance were some cool hot rods and muscle cars, some with wicked paint jobs, some with menacing engines.

Here are a few (clickable) pics from the evening.

Comments and criticism welcome.

Great shots!

What lens and settings were used for the last picture (bottom, lower right)?

Dave,

Here's a link to the EXIF data--> http://www.flickr.com/photo_exif.gne?id=27515214
Since I had my two little ones, I stuck with just the kit lens, polarizer attached.

Check out this website ---> SoCal Car Culture and click on "Cruise Nights"

To answer your question though, this was at the Frisco's Drive-In hamburger joint in Downey.

There are plenty of these weekly happenings all over our grand country, Whenever I'm in Chicagoland there's an A/W on Pulaski in the south suburbs that gets some wicked iron.

I'm sure that on any given summer night, there are carnuts, hotrodders, muscle car enthusiasts, wrench monkeys, and (not to sound sexist) dads inculcating their sons into the automobile culture.

If you're serious about the Buick, let me know. I'm one of those carnuts willing to hook up. And . . . since you're on this forum, it's taken for granted you also own a MINI (as do I). Maybe you'll allow me to photograph your rides- just to sharpen my skills.:smile:

I didn't get up that early but did manage to head out there a few weeks ago.

Snapped this detail of one of the hotrods there.
