Just no services....
And in poor shape....
Bern to a few airports like this...
So watch out...folks still use it!! It's still listed as open...
Neat picture....I like it!

Hey... don't laugh too hard....
A few of my old co-workers was once ferrying an old emb-110 up from Florida that the company had just repossessed it from before the end of a lease for nonpayment (and poor mataince) and they were flying in loose formation with a c402.....the main radio in the c402 basicly died, and they just low powered hand-held radio's, (the Embrair 110, a 19 seat plane had radios they quickly found were having issues) they decided to land at an uncontrolled airport (no tower, like above) late at night in SC....A few moments after landing, they were parking the plane, figuring out what to do next (before smart phones) suddenly they ..got thrown to the ground, guns drawn...the whole takedown like on TV... apparently when the feds saw them landing, the zoomed ahead in the BLACKHAWK that was trailing them (no lights, lol, true special forces style).. and waited....armed, and waiting in the bushes....
Listening to him tell the story, was kinda funny....this was back about 20 years ago...at about the height of the "drug war" when folks could still sneak back and forth in and out of the country ....
Got searched , and released....they had been trailed for a LONG TIME as a "suspicious" plane...lol...flying in formation, VFR totally legal if both pilots are ok with it, and staying clear if clouds not talking to ATC, also legal) cause the certification of the plane for IFR (navigation with ATC services by reference of instruments ) had lapsed, and the equipment to recertify it was back at the companys HQ...
They got a crazy story....and some disappointed federal agents......and some dirty clothes...lol. kinda funny...but the owner of the company wanted the plane back NOW, and did not want to chance them delaying their departure for legsl reasons ..
And I know all the people who were there....heard the story from a couple different perspectives...

Keep on driving. Airports are dangerous places especially for non-pilots.

The owner of that airport also owns an electronics automobile manufacturing company just down the road called ascencione® electronic systems www.ascencione.com. He also owns Smart Power Systems a generator company for the fire industry. www.smartpower.com
