Is anyone going from the Indy area?

I'm a Cheap Bastard™ and will probably be doing just Saturday, and driving up that morning.

 

Each Day is on a different track (According to Phil Wick's web-site), short track on day 1, long track on day 2

Awesome opportunity to drive 2 tracks in one weekend

 

Arrrrrrrgh I was supposed to go but I think I might not be able to make it now. DAMNIT!

 

Anyone driving up from Indy? I don't know if I'm going to stay for the 2nd day, yet. I'm planning on driving up *early* Saturday morning.

 

I'm definitely in for the 2nd day, now. Sunday's supposed to be 101º! Ugh! I left Phoenix to get away from this stuff!

I missed the 2nd day, but did the first with some fun, fast laps

A Cobra went off on Sunday in turn 3. Word on the tarmac is that he was trying to fend off a MINI... The driver's fine, but the car didn't look so good.

 

Had some issues .... Hope to make it up

 

Saturday was cooler and overcast for most of the day, and even though the extreme heat got to a lot of people Sunday, we still had a great time there. It was unfortunate for the AC Cobra driver to wreck like that, he fell prey to that super high performance car over confidence that only THEIR cars can run a track. He was merely trying to shake an S which was on his tail and disregarded completely the lesson he had just received that morning [to not let the car behind or in front influence the way you drive]. Helluva price to pay for his mistake, though.

I'd like to thank my instructors...Mark [Saturday], Mick and Tom [Sunday afternoon], and Dean [Sunday morning] for all their help. I'd also like to thank Phil Wicks and his crew for putting together yet another great school. Can't wait to get to another one...if only they were a tad closer to Ohio....

Really gives you a feel for how big that freaking mirror is, doesn't it? ;-)

 

Haha yeah I always mounted the cam to me front passenger seat in my A4 but I thought, given the extremely short cabin of the Mini, I'd try the rear seat.

I will try the front passenger seat and zoom the cam all the way out next time.

 

You could also try removing the mirror. It just pops off with a counterclockwise twist at the headliner.
