SHELL in Roselle,IL Roselle Rd/Irving Park Junk gas!!

Talk about limp mode home. I filled up their 93 octane V-POWER
at the SHELL on the corner of Roselle and Irving Park in Roselle, IL.

I felt a slight loss in power in 3rd through the wooded area today while
going pretty quick through a turn thinking it was my traction control
since the road was damp (my cooper-s).

Then at the final spart, I took 2nd to redline and poof! limp mode...

DON'T BUY GAS FROM THAT STATION !!

I usually fill up at the Shell in Barrington and/or Itasca and never had
this problem before. Turned down my Unichip's map to a lower
setting until I rid this junk gas.

2percooper- I think Im going to start using Mobil and BP from now on.
The Shell in Barrington is (was) just so convenient for me.

I only drive my MCS after work lately and on the weekends, so that
might be why you don't see me too often. But I am roaming around
Golf Rd mid-day on the weekends.

Were you the one that was going to get the Aero kit? Did you
have it installed yet? Any picts?

I do the same with my MINI, just cruise around after work...

And yes, I am getting the Aero kit installed. At this right moment to be exact. If everything goes smoothly (fingers crossed), I will be able to pick her up tomorrow afternoon.

You should check out Chicagolands Euro Club. www.Euroteknik.com we meet every Thursday, and almost every time its in the Schaumburg area. Good times. Plus, im the only MINI there, so it would be nice to have someone else to talk to about MINI's at the meet.

We are showing at the Dub's Superseries Show this Saturday at McCormick Place

Hope your install turns out well. Did you have your arches painted too,

or left them black? My arches are black. Might paint them flat black on my
own next year since Im getting a little tired of coating the arches with
back-to-black all the time.

Is that Thursday meet anywhere by Border Books parking lot by anychance?
Once in a while I take out my WRX and drop by the Impreza club meeting
at the Borders parking lot near California Pizza Kitchen. I saw a 330ci there
once, lately more and more 350Z's and Supra's showing up.

Usually Im out on business...or use the time to motor around town.

I left my arches black, I like the contrast. I just use Stoners trim shine to clean the trim and it works wonders.

The meets are usually held at the Fudruckers on Golf, Uno's Pizza on Golf, and Q'Doba on Golf. All of which are relatively close to the Borders books. Are you a part if IClub as well? thats sweet. George is a good friend of mine.

Stoners trim shine, huh? thanks, I'll try that next time. I too like to
have the black arch on the IB.

I am a member of NASIOC and IClub...but I rarely show up at those
weekly meets. Im those types that if I have the time to hang out, I'd
rather be motoring. I drop by on occasion though to see how my
other car buddies are doing. Im not real good in large groups.

Jorge has given me a few pointers on tuning my UTEC (piggyback).
So far I haven't bothered to have him fine tune my parameters since
my car is running pretty strong... but from others, I hear he has a really
good hand on tuning the WRX.

2percooper- Are you going to be joining Jorge over at the Bella Cunica

on Sunday 8/15? 4pm-8pm car show. I'll be there probably with my WRX
to get some carryout and see the cars if it's not raining.

Yah, no biggie. I was working on my car all day today...like 11hours straight.
wheew...

My signature is actually taken in Schaumburg. I was gonna take
some picts at the park, but that day the parks were filled with cars and
kids so I just went to the office and took some snapshots.
