what about us in West MI. Anything even close to the middle of the state? I want to get involved but its just too far away. There are auto-x's around here but they are not mini events. I am going to one on Saturday btw, pm in interested in competing!!! (will be a blast)
I heard a rumor about another MINI dealer in GR soon?!? I am in TC, I hope to show up to one michiganmini event. Also an autocross event or track day.
A track day or evening at Gingerman or Grattan would be cool. Although Grattan has some tough rules, and would likely need to be held in conjunction with the BMW group I believe.
Lot's of great things in SW michigan, I am a WMU grad.

Like I said, check out MichiganMini.com. We're planning outings at Gingerman too. You can still join the club and meet us when it's convinient for you as we have members that we only meet once in a while. There're times when we plan trips that go beyond our local area such as the Dragon Run coming this 29th. I can't make it this year but if you're interested, you could just meet up with them along the way

I feel your pain of most of our events not being outside the Detroit Metro area. Since that's the majority of the Michigan MINI population, it only seems appropriate. However, I would love to have a MINI meet on the westside too! How about a meet in Empire, near the Sleeping Bear sand dunes?

Our fall colors tour meets in Ann Arbor and goes out into the middle of the state. It would be a good meet for the west siders. So the only way to keep up to date is to join and read along. Making a west side event is easy too. All you need to do is find a event you want to do, make a few plans that you normally do for yourself when planning to go some where. Make the plans public on the web and tell us that is what is happening and other mini's are bound to show up. I am up for a west side drive now and then, but since I do not live on that side of the state it is hard for me to plan things over there. That is where a west sider needs to pick up the ball and run a bit. Go to Michigan mini dot come for more info.

I have PM'd Ryan and help from anyone else would be great.
The Dragon run would be cool, but I have a hyper-critical meeting on the return day...next year....
The equivelant of the Dragon Run in Michigan is Scenic Highway M-119, north of Harbor Springs and then up to the bridge. Lot's of very twisty up and down roads, very light traffic, Legg's Inn at cross-corners, and of course views of Lake Michigan. It is way up there...but is a destination to do sometime...
